About Embracia Childcare and Kindergarten
Embracia Childcare and Kindergarten
Embracia Childcare and Kindergarten is located on the Old Kyneton Hospital site. The childcare centre marks the initial phase of Embracia Victoria’s visionary plan to establish an an aged care home, restaurant, café, education facilities, shared office space and function space on the site. Embracia are a member of the Australian Childcare Alliance.
Our educators create an environment for our children that emulates an enchanting oasis. Our childcare educators focus on supporting your child to thrive in all areas of their physical and mental wellbeing as well as their personal development.
History of Embracia
Embracia is a family-owned business that was founded in 1987 by Sarah’s parents, Peter and Dawn MacKenzie. Sarah MacKenzie, the now second-generation owner of Embracia, grew up in the aged-care home. Sarah has gone on to take over the family business and expand it to incorporate three entities; Embracia Aged Care, Embracia Education and Embracia Childcare and Kindergarten. Now Sarah’s children are continuing the family tradition, growing up fully immersed in the facilities and getting to know the residents as part of their own family.
Intergenerational Programs
Embracia Childcare and Kindergarten will be a unique environment with Embracia Aged Care, co-located on the Old Kyneton Hospital site. This environment, with both aged care and child care on the same site, will allow intergenerational play sessions between the residents of Embracia Aged Care and the children at Embracia Childcare and Kindergarten. The Intergenerational Program has been developed following studies that found that intergenerational play improves self-esteem and helps develop social skills and friendships. The elderly residents living in our facilities have an abundance of time to share with our children, and we find the benefits of the Intergenerational Programs are long lasting for everyone involved.
Education Focus
Embracia Education, also to be located on-site, will provide both early childhood education and aged care study and certifications. Through their relationship with Embracia Childcare and Kindergarten and Embracia Aged Care, students can take advantage of a unique placement opportunity.
With a whole community approach, they will foster the growth and development of students as well as provide future employment opportunities through Embracia Childcare and Kindergarten. This ensures that the family values that are essential to Embracia Childcare and Kindergarten are instilled during education and then nurtured through meaningful employment.
