Long Daycare and Kindergarten Learning Programs

A Curriculum to Inspire our Children

At Embracia we provide a unique curriculum for children in our long daycare and kindergarten services. We incorporate Aboriginal culture, nature, and intergenerational learning programs along with child-led/play-based learning. We are committed to providing a developmental and educational program which caters for each child’s individual needs, abilities and interests. This well-rounded education program is designed to support and inspire our children to be the best version of themselves.

Aboriginal Culture

Embracia Childcare and Kindergarten greatly respect and have embraced the aboriginal heritage of the area. To honor and celebrate this rich culture, we have established an Aboriginal-themed reserve where children can explore and learn. Our team also worked closley with the elders of the Taungurung Clan to create an Aboriginal education program that is integrated into our curriculum.

As part of our commitment to fostering a harmonious and inclusive environment, we are currently in the process of developing a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). This plan will further strengthen our efforts to build meaningful relationships with the Aboriginal community and promote mutual respect and recognition of their cultures.

Nature helps us Nurture

Our centre has been designed to embrace our natural surroundings and natural and recycled materials have been used throughout the playgrounds, gardens and our eight-acre grounds where possible. We believe that embracing nature helps us nurture the inquisitive development of our children.

Intergenerational Learning

We will work together with our sister facility, Embracia Aged Care, co-located on the Old Kyneton Hospital site. We will provide regular intergenerational play sessions between the elderly and the children on site. The Togetherness Program has been developed as studies have found that intergenerational play improves self-esteem and helps develop social skills and friendships.

The elderly residents living in our facilities have an abundance of time to share with our children, and we find the benefits of the Togetherness Programs are long lasting for everyone involved.  For more examples of how this has been studied, you can check out the ABC television series – Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds.

Embracing Community and Heritage

Our team have gone to great efforts to ensure our long daycare and kindergarten facilities are truly exceptional. We are based on the site of the Old Kyneton Hospital and our spaces embrace the history and charm of the heritage listed site.

The self-contained long daycare facilities, aged care home and education hub will be set among lush gardens. Complementing these facilities, you will find a restaurant and café that will all be housed within the grounds of the old hospital to allow you to stop and enjoy a moment before or after dropping off your child. The iconic bluestone hospital building will also be home to shared office facilities and function spaces. All of these facilities have been thoughtfully designed by Embracia Architects with the whole community in mind.
